Most men do not arrive here because they were looking for a therapist. They arrive because something happened. A diagnosis that removed the certainty they had always provided for others. A career that ended without warning and took their identity with it. A marriage that fell quiet in ways neither partner could explain. A father's death that closed a conversation that never fully opened. A moment when they lost their composure in a way that frightened them.

Something stopped working. And the tools that have always worked stopped working too.

I sit with men in those moments. Not to fix what broke. To accompany them through it toward a more honest account of their own story.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in California with twenty years of clinical experience working primarily with men. After a rotational brain injury in 2013 dismantled my own story, I developed a contemplative approach to men's narrative depth work from the necessity of finding my own way back. I did not study this terrain from a distance. I walked it first.

I work with a small number of men at any given time. Sessions are available in person at my office in Old Fair Oaks Village and virtually throughout California. I accept Optum, United Health Care, and Aetna; some deeper intensive work is private pay.

The men who find their way here have usually tried other things first. Coaching. Previous therapy. Working harder. None of it reached the place that needed reaching. What they are looking for, without always having words for it, is someone who can sit with the story underneath the struggle and follow it honestly wherever it leads.

That is what I offer. Not a protocol. Not a program. A sustained, contemplative engagement with a man's story, at whatever depth he is ready to bring to it.
